I am a Senior Researcher (Post-Doc) in Stony Brook University’s Department of Political Science. Previously I was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute for the 2021-2022 academic year. I hold a PhD in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My research interests include immigration and asylum policies, as well as methods for causal inference with observational data. My work has been published or is forthcoming in the International Migration Review and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies. While conducting field work in Switzerland I was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Zürich, a Graduate Fellow at the Immigration Policy Lab at ETH-Zürich, and a Visiting Fellow at the NCCR-On The Move at the University of Neuchâtel.
